Beach day followed by an arcade evening

We went with the Collins family to a beach just down the road
from our house called Windy Point.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was perfect.

It's so nice having kids all the same ages that get along so well.

After the beach, we cleaned up and went to Dave n' Busters
to celebrate Jack's 6th Birthday.

Dear Sunset, YOU complete me

I definitely miss the magnificent Utah mountains, but one benefit of living in the flat-lands is the beautiful sunsets we get to see every night. We have an unobstructed view from our deck. Here are a few pictures from random nights (although iPhone snapshots don't really do it justice).

New York, New York

Jeremy just got back from a conference in New York.
I usually don't post about his conferences because he attends them so often,
and generally they are pretty uneventful.

However, every time he goes to New York he has a few unique
experiences that are fun to share.

The Twin Towers Memorial.
Kind of cool to see so close to the Sept 11th anniversary.

If you know Jeremy, you would know that he's been a Yankees Fan before
he could even spell the word. New York for him wouldn't be complete
without going to a game. He was fortunate enough to go the the
World Series in 2009, where they won in the final game of the series.
He went to a game again this year, which is always a good time.

The game

The suite

The Man

The most unique part of this trip was that he got the chance to run a 5k in the stadium.

Apparently it involved a lot of stairs and was a little more challenging
than the typical 5k. You can read more about it here if you are interested.
But it sounds like he had a lot of fun and placed really well.

No Conference would be complete without a theme party
(that he never dresses up for).
Apparently this was a 70's theme.

NYC wouldn't be complete without hanging with Ice-T and Coco.

and it most certainly wouldn't be complete without the Street Meet in front of the Hilton at 2am.

Apparently he did some work and attended sessions and stuff,
but I'm not sure I believe him.
I think I need to join him next year to be sure.

Boating Day

We went boating today on Lake Travis.

It was such a great time.
I haven't laughed this hard in a while.

It was a beautiful day with beautiful friends!

After boating for a while, we stopped off for lunch at
The Gnarly Gar, a floating dock restaurant.

After getting back on the lake,
the boys swam

The girls didn't

Then we made the mistake of letting Jeremy drive...

and because he's so manly and strong
(definitely not because he's careless and impatient)
the key broke in the ignition and
we became stranded for an hour or so.

But hey, at least that gave us more bonding time!

After we were rescued, we had dinner at
Carlos 'n Charlie's and then called it a day.

A very fun and interesting day!
