Sign of the Times

This morning Olivia came into my room playing her princess CD player song, and asked, "Mommy...do you like this ringtone?"

Scout Visit To City Hall

We took the Scouts to visit the Mayor so they could earn their Citizenship badge. It was a lot of fun to see their excitement and how nervous they were. They all acted as though they were meeting a celebrity.

We sat around the conference table and Mayor Mills asked the kids if they had any questions.

Here were some of my favorite questions:

When do you ring the bell outside?

Do you know my Dad? He's a West Valley Cop?

Do you make a lot of money?

Can you change our school schedule so we go on Saturday and Sunday instead of Thursday and Friday?

Do you get a lot of free stuff?

Such a fun day!

Valentines Day

I'm not that mom.

You know, the mom that sews, or that makes the cutest invitations, or home-made party decorations.

However, this is the first year my kids could send out class Valentines. Yes, that's right.

Their previous school didn't have parties. So I decided to be that mom for just one day.

We have a Raccoon!

Landon was chosen as the Riverton Raccoon of the Week.

He was so excited to be chosen for the entire 4th grade! Not only did he get to be on the morning news segment, "The Raccoon Report", but he got free Cafe Rio...Sweet!

I'm so proud of him. He is so polite, a great student, a wonderful friend, and funny funny funny.

Family Game Night

What more can you ask for?

Well- maybe a photographer who didn't
block the flash with his hat...

But other than that, it was a perfect night!

Olivia is FOUR!!!

Olivia was born on Monday, February 7th, 2007. She was 8 lbs 3 oz, and 19 inches long (exactly the same as Emma). Here are some pictures of her through the years...

A Day of Rest

There are women out there that just love to stay completely busy all the time and enjoy having a big project to work on.

I'm not one of those women.

I think life itself is a big project. With every day activities like cleaning, homework, dinner, laundry, kids, etc, I am hard-pressed for time for anything else. I really don't know how 'those women' do it. I've been crazy busy every week since Thanksgiving with various projects and activities:

-Engagement Party
-Dance Recital
-Chess Tournament
-Trip to St. George
-Family Christmas Party
- Scouts Blue & Gold Banquet
-Science Fair Project
-Emma's Birthday Party
-Olivia's Birthday Party

Add to that Emma's unexpected broken hand, which doubled my work-load each day. It's amazing how much help someone needs when they only have one hand...showers, buttoning pants, pouring milk, brushing hair...it was like having another toddler.

Olivia's birthday party was last night and as I went to sleep, I realized that I don't have to do anything in the morning...or the next morning...or the next morning. In fact, other than my friends wedding in April...I have NOTHING planned (I know, knock on wood, right).

Anyway, it's not like I didn't enjoy all of those things (well, except the broken hand), but having so much to do in such a short amount of time was a little tiring. I'm excited to have some free time to enjoy with my family and friends over the next few months!
