Jeremy's birthday fell on a Tuesday this year, so it was pretty much business as usual; Landon had scouts and Emma had dance. We did order pizza and had cupcakes to celebrate.
Since his actual birthday day was kind of lame, I told him to plan a night out the following weekend. He could plan ANYTHING he wanted, and I promised not to complain (that was my gift to him, since I'm pretty picky). He told me to dress semi-formal and not ask him any questions. We drove to Salt Lake and ended up in an older neighborhood. He drove to the back of someone's house and parked. Suddenly I was reminiscent of a High School dance where my date thought it would be super creative to drive back to his home and have his mom cook for us.
Score.
After going inside, to my surprise, the house was converted into a quaint little restaurant with about 12 tables. When the server came to our table, she asked us if we wanted the 2-hour experience or the 4-hour experience. At that point, I knew we were in for something unique. We opted for the 2-hour experience, which was a 12-course meal (I can't even imagine what the 4-hour experience entailed). I love that Jeremy chose something that would allow us to enjoy good food, but most importantly have time alone to just hang out and talk, which we do not do often enough. I started to take pictures of each dish because it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. It was such amazing food, and even more amazing company.
Happy birthday babe!
